About the Gun

The A-75 is a compact all-steel DA/SA locked-breech pistol with a single-stack magazine, a frame-mounted decocker, and fixed three-dot combat sights. Standard guns are blued, with black plastic grips. It is the double-action companion to the single-action A-70.

Analysis

Astra introduced the A-75 in 1993 as a DA/SA update of the A-70 compact. The size, lockup, and single-stack magazine stayed the same; the new lockwork added a first-shot double-action pull and a frame mounted decock lever. Early guns used a single-side decock lever; later production made that control ambidextrous. .45 Auto joined the line in 1994. Magazines do not interchange with the A-70. Production ran until Astra closed in 1998. Used A-75s trade as short-run steel compacts next to the A-70; parts and magazines are limited.
