The trigger is smooth faced and has less curve than the original serrated one. While the original Cobras had their firing pins on the hammer, the new model uses a transfer bar and a frame-mounted firing pin. Also features a redesigned leaf mainspring.

Analysis

This classic double-action revolver in .38 Special +P caliber offers a blend of historical design and practical performance. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent shot placement at typical defensive ranges, thanks to a well-aligned barrel and fixed sights. The ergonomics are user-friendly, with a grip that fits comfortably in most hands, aiding in control during firing. Reliability is a strong suit, as the mechanism operates smoothly with minimal risk of malfunction when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be demanding, requiring regular attention to prevent wear on internal components. Parts availability may also pose challenges, as some replacements are harder to source. The trigger pull is crisp in single-action mode but noticeably heavier in double-action, which might affect precision for some users. Felt recoil is moderate with +P loads, manageable for experienced shooters but potentially sharp for novices.
