Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking precision and comfort. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering tight groupings at moderate ranges, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. The ergonomics are a significant asset, with a grip that accommodates various hand sizes, promoting a secure hold during extended sessions. Reliability is another strength, as it cycles smoothly with a variety of ammunition, showing minimal malfunctions under standard conditions. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4-5 pounds, which aids in consistent shot placement. Felt recoil, while present due to the caliber, is manageable, mitigated by the firearm’s weight and grip design. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous care to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges, and the heft might not suit shooters prioritizing lightweight carry options.

If this Vigil is the first step on the Dan Wesson ladder I can't wait for the next step. This is everything I want and need in a 1911. It has an exceptional trigger and a milder than expected recoil due ti it's light frame. Finish and fit perfect. The down side, my old eyes need a Trijicon HD to keep me on track. I think i would prefer a memory bump on the grip safety. that said, it is my best shooter.
