About the Gun

Fourth-generation full-size pistol features a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps that allow adjustment of grip circumference and angle for different hand sizes. It includes an enlarged reversible magazine release, a dual-recoil-spring assembly, and rough-textured frame surfaces. The slide houses standard fixed sights, and the design maintains the short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism.

Analysis

This variant applied the Gen4 ergonomic and recoil-management updates to the .45 ACP platform, which is frequently chosen for defensive or duty roles emphasizing the cartridge's stopping power and manageable recoil in a service-size handgun. The dual-spring setup was intended to moderate muzzle rise and support reliable function with a variety of .45 ACP loads. The model saw adoption among law enforcement agencies and civilian users who favored the caliber's terminal performance within Glock's established operating system. Quantities reaching the secondary market have been more limited than those of the 9 mm Gen4 variants, resulting in somewhat firmer pricing for functional examples.
