About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This compact .45 Auto pistol offers a solid balance of power and concealability, making it a viable choice for personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of its size, delivering consistent performance at typical engagement distances. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for most users, aiding in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with the pistol functioning well under varied conditions, even with minimal maintenance. However, upkeep can be somewhat demanding, as regular cleaning is necessary to prevent wear on internal components. Parts availability may pose challenges in certain regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull, averaging around 5.5 pounds, provides a predictable break, though some shooters might find it slightly heavy. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the potent caliber and compact frame, which could affect newer shooters or those sensitive to kickback.

I so didn't want to love the gun so much, but despite my practice and best efforts, this is the most ACCURATE 45 cal I own. One handed shot, NO PROBLEM!
