About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a compact yet powerful firearm. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at typical defensive ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for most hand sizes, aiding in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with the firearm functioning well under varied conditions and with different ammunition types. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which provides a good balance for both novice and experienced users. However, felt recoil can be sharp due to the potent caliber and lighter frame, potentially challenging for those unaccustomed to larger calibers. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular care to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing specific replacement parts may pose difficulties, and the compact size might not suit users with larger hands.

A great powerful pocket size carry pistol. Very reliable and not too heavy. Love this pistol.
