About the Gun

This is a continuation and minor refinement of the P-25 design under the same blowback-operated, ultra-compact format with a zinc-alloy frame. Changes from the original P-25 included finer slide serrations for improved purchase, finish options such as matte black, blued, or nickel, and grip choices including walnut or imitation mother-of-pearl. Safety configurations evolved across production: early MP-25 units retained a sliding tab on the slide (forward for fire, rearward for safe), while later ones adopted a push-up rotating disk safety that engaged a slide notch to fully lock the action when activated. Ejection relied on the dual-purpose firing pin, with no major documented redesigns to that system noted in period sources.

Production

Production of this firearm spanned from 1984 to 1987.

Analysis

The MP-25 maintained the core attributes of the P-25 series in the budget handgun category, emphasizing extreme compactness for pocket carry and low production costs through simple construction and alloy materials. Incremental updates addressed some user-reported issues with the sliding safety's tendency to shift under recoil or incomplete engagement, though the rotating disk variant introduced a more secure lockup at the expense of added complexity in an otherwise minimalist design. Reliability remained variable depending on ammunition quality and maintenance, consistent with the limitations of inexpensive .25 ACP pocket pistols from the era. Market positioning stayed focused on affordability and concealability rather than refined performance or longevity, aligning with the broader Ring of Fire manufacturers' approach to filling demand in the post-1968 import-restricted segment.

Ten years and now I have five. Black, Chrome and Satin. Great little guns. Just add Hard Cast 60gr bullets.

I got my first MP-25 in 2015. I liked it so much that I seek them out and now own three. A Black one, a Chrome one and a Satin one. All great little shooters.

Stupid Easy Carry

This little BUG has never had a failure in the hundreds of different brand of rounds I've put through it in the last five years. Shooting with my 14 year old Grandson last week, we both nailed two mags into 3" Shoot n See targets at 16 feet. They key word with this Defensive Handgun is... Headshot.

Great if all you need is noise.

The gun functions fine, but accuracy is impossible, at least for me. I can hit the old FBI torso target up to 10 feet away, but POI and POA is dramatically inconsistant.
