About the Gun

Built on the patented modular steel frame with polymer grip, the Eagle delivers the traditional features of a 1911 and allows the added benefit of high capacity magazines. The frame design preserves the original 1911 angle of the grip in relation to the slide. The essential design element for high capacity, the polymer grip, allows for double stack magazines without over-sizing the circumference of the grip, which remains comparatively the same as the circumference of a 1911. The Eagle has a classic scalloped slide with front and rear cocking serrations, dovetail front sight and adjustable rear sight. The Eagle comes standard with features such as a stainless steel hi-ride grip safety and stainless steel ambi-thumb safety.

Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol from a well-known manufacturer demonstrates notable precision, often delivering tight groupings at typical defensive ranges. Its ergonomic design facilitates a comfortable grip for a wide range of hand sizes, enhancing control during extended shooting sessions. Reliability is a key asset, with consistent performance across various ammunition types and minimal malfunctions under standard conditions. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4-5 pounds, which aids in maintaining accuracy. Felt recoil is manageable, though it may be pronounced for newer shooters due to the robust caliber. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous cleaning to prevent wear on intricate components. Availability of replacement parts may pose challenges, potentially leading to delays in repairs. Additionally, the weight could be a drawback for those prioritizing concealability or lighter carry options. Overall, it’s a solid choice for experienced users seeking performance in a full-size platform.
