Analysis

Smith & Wesson introduced the SD VE series in 2012 as the Value Enhanced successor to the original SD9 and SD40 models, which themselves had replaced the Sigma line. The VE versions retained the same overall architecture, magazine compatibility, and Self Defense Trigger while shifting to a stainless or black-finished slide and standard white-dot sights (in place of the tritium front sight on many early SD pistols). Multiple frame colors—including black, gray, and Flat Dark Earth—have been offered, often paired with black slides on the colored-frame variants. The series has remained in continuous production as an affordable full-size striker-fired option positioned below the M&P line.

Great gun!

I wouldn't call it just as good as the Glock 19 that it's based on but it's still a great reliable pistol. I've had mine for 7 years and no major failures.
