About the Gun

Now re-designed to support the .38 Special +P cartridge, the Model 10 has been in production since 1957 where it started as a .38 Special revolver. The first of S&W's numbered series, this 'K'-frame model still looks the same as the original, although it has gone through 14 engineering changes during its years of production. Starting in 1992 this 4 inch heavy barrel model with Uncle Mike's rubber grips was introduced.

About the Cartridge

In 1974, SAAMI established standards for a .38 Special cartridge with a gunpowder load that generated a higher firing pressure than the standard cartridge. Designated with a +P suffix, this cartridge has a significant, but not huge, increase in performance over the standard .38 Special cartridge.

Model 10 S&W

The standard for medium frame S&W .38 Special. Excellent build quality and finish. Easy to use, accurate and low recoil. I have version #2 with the Uncle Mikes grips. I would not mind the slab grips at all.
