The original Model 22 (45 Military M1950) revolver was produced from 1951 to 1966. It had the same specifications as 1917 Army, except for a redesigned hammer block. Only about 4000 of the original model were produced. Smith & Wesson re-introduced this 'N'-frame revolver as part of their 'Classics' series in 2008.
