Analysis

This lightweight, double-action-only revolver in .38 Special +P caliber offers a compact design ideal for concealed carry. Its accuracy is commendable for a snub-nose firearm, delivering consistent performance at close to moderate ranges. The ergonomics suit many users, with a grip that facilitates a secure hold despite the small frame. Reliability is a key asset, as it functions well under varied conditions with minimal malfunctions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding due to the internal hammer design, requiring more attention to keep it in optimal condition. Parts availability may pose challenges for some owners, as certain components are less common. The trigger pull is notably heavy, which might affect precision for less experienced shooters. Felt recoil is manageable but can be sharp with +P loads, potentially impacting follow-up shots for those unaccustomed to the kick.

Great pocket piece
By Estesj11 on 28 Mar 2025
I never thought I'd buy a snubby revolver but there is merit to owning a pocket gun. This is a great backup gun for me. Its light enough to keep in the pocket of my basketball shorts if I need to which helps when I do my laundry and want to carry just in case.

Perfect pocket PD in 38 or less
By tgiv on 12 Feb 2018
Often sold to beginner women and pocket carry guys since it's foolproof wheel, low recoil and .38 has enough Muzzle Energy desired + CT laser grips = better hits BUT for a few dollars more a beginner that may graduate to larger calibers later might find a better investment in Ruger's smoother trigger LCR .357 mag, which can begin shooting .38's if preferred. CT also equips the latter, even in green.
