In an effort to fulfill the need for 1911 pistols during World War II unconventional companies were contracted to produce the handguns. The Singer Sewing Machine Company was one of those companies. Singer only produced 500 of these guns. They had great fit, finish and materials quality, and are probably the rarest of 1911 pistols. They have become one of the most sought-after Colt models, and most expensive. In recent years, values have increased astronomically, and as a result, some fakes have emerged.

Production

Production for this military pistol under the Singer contract during World War II occurred between 1940 and 1941. Only about 500 units were made, making it a rare piece from that era.

For this gun in 95% condition, the MSRP is not applicable as it's a historical piece. Used market value in 2024-2025 ranges from $15,000 to $20,000, reflecting rarity and collector demand.
