About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol is a full-sized handgun that delivers notable performance for both duty and personal defense roles. Its accuracy is commendable, with a consistent ability to group shots tightly at moderate ranges, aided by a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, it fits comfortably in larger hands, though smaller-framed shooters may find the grip somewhat bulky. Reliability is a key asset, as it functions flawlessly across a wide range of ammunition types, even under adverse conditions. The trigger pull is consistent at around 5.5 pounds, offering a predictable break, while the felt recoil is manageable for most users, thanks to the substantial frame absorbing much of the force. However, maintenance can be somewhat involved due to the need for regular cleaning to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges in certain regions, potentially frustrating owners needing quick repairs.

This gun performs. I really like this pistol. I like every Glock I’ve fired, but do not currently own one. This length is great for the 45ACP and tames recoil.
